Paris couture week has just concluded and as expected there was lots of beaded embroidery, piles of tulle and red carpet-ready gowns perfect for any A lister wanted to make an impact at the Oscars or any other awards ceremony that is still left on the calendar for the next couple of months.
Unlike the Milan Autumn Menswear ranges there was no Rick Owens moment just lots of stunning couture gowns to delight in.
If there was a trend this season, it was that designers seemed to focus on creating clothing women could conceivably wear, rather than on presenting semi-wearable works of art like they did in 2014. There was little that was particularly daring and over the top by past experiences with the Couture shows. In all it was sexy, sweet, and there was something for every taste on the Paris runways during the Haute Couture shows this year.
There were the standouts and for me it was some of the designers who you would expect to top the list – Versace, Chanel, Dior and Giorgio Armani all showed stunning collections along with some delights from Schiaperella, Julien Fiornie, Giambattista Valli, Alexis Mabelle and On Aura Tout Vu.
So here are some of my favourite looks from these shows…enjoy!

I think the Armani Prive collection was the real standout for me – so beautiful.

Not a big fan of Schiaparelli. The others are just gorgeous!
